About the Candidate

The Rev. Dr. Darryl Williams was born and raised in Chicago, IL, the fourth of seven children born to Vernon and Frances Williams. He is a product of the Chicago Public school System. He is a graduate of Wilberforce University, class of 1983. From there he went to Garrett Seminary in Evanston, IL, where he received the Master of Divinity degree. In 2019, he received his Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton. Ohio. He is currently the pastor of St Stephen AME Church in Detroit, MI. He has been married to Laurelyn Willette Peoples Williams, a Detroit Public School teacher. They have one daughter, Christina Noelle Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio.
